Nomura acquires Lehman Brothers’ units in Powai, Mumbai
Nomura Holdings have finally made an announcement regarding acquisition of Lehman Brothers’ Business Units in Powai, Mumbai (India).
A company release says that Nomura would acquire 3 units of Lehman in Powai :
“…Lehman Brothers Services India Private Limited, Lehman Brothers Financial Services (India) Private Limited, and Lehman Brothers Structured Finance Services Private Limited, all specialized service companies based in Powai, Mumbai.”
Through this acquisition Nomura would add another 3000 employees to its global network. Needless to say that this would significantly add to Nomura’s strength in IT functions including other support operations.
Media reports also say that this transaction includes purchase of all assets as well as shares of the 3 companies by Nomura.
