HP to cut 6400 more jobs

Businesses worldwide continue to announce more job losses. Latest to come up with more such axing is Hewlett Packard.

HP has registered a steep decline in its second quarter profits and has also announced a reduction of 2 percent in its global workforce over the next 12 months. This in essence means that out of 3,21,000 employees worldwide about 6,400 people might lose their jobs.

HP is said to have a strong presence in India.

“Revenue from outside the United States in the second quarter accounted for 64 per cent of total revenue, with revenue in the BRIC countries (Brazil, Russia, India and China) declining 12 per cent over the prior-year period while accounting for 9 per cent of total HP revenue”, the statement released by HP said.
